For the first time in Sydney, Rallis School of Greek Dance presents “PANIYIRI – Under the Stars” - in honour of St Nicholas. A magnificent outdoor venue will be dressed in tables, chairs, strings of lights and coupled with the tempting aroma of mouthwatering souvlakia and lamb on the spit being cooked onsite. It promises to be a delightful experience.

At "Paniyiri Under the Stars", you can expect an exciting and inclusive atmosphere filled with friendly people, great music and plenty of opportunities to dance and socialize.

Come and enjoy this family fun night on a beautiful summer night, feast on delicious Greek food, great music and dancing - reminiscent of a traditional Greek Paniyiri just like in Greece!!!

  • What can I expect from the event?
    At "Paniyiri Under the Stars', you can expect an exciting and welcoming atmosphere filled with delicious food, passionate dancers, great music, friendly people and plenty of opportunities to dance and socialize.
  • Will there be seating?
    Yes, there are allocated tables per booking. We strive to make our events as comfortable and enjoyable for everyone.
  • How will I know my table number?
    A week prior to the event, you will receive an email from RSGDSYD stating the table number for you and your parea (group).
  • What is included in my ticket
    Your ticket includes your entry fee, a delicious Greek Paniyiri-style food box, a mesmerizing performance by RSGDSYD dancers, and music by the talented DJ Georgie D to keep the party going all night long.
  • Will there be security?
    Yes, there will be security present at the event to ensure the safety of all attendees and maintain a positive atmosphere. We take the safety and security of our community members very seriously and have taken necessary measures to provide a secure environment for everyone.
  • How do I purchase my tickets?
    Tickets must be pre-purchased and can be booked via the TryBooking online booking system from 6 November. For large groups, you can also email our school at rsgdsyd@gmail.com. We encourage all attendees to purchase their tickets in advance to ensure availability and avoid any last-minute rush. No tickets will be sold on the day.
  • Where can I park?
    Fraser Park has ample parking available on the premises. You can also find parking on the surrounding streets.
  • Are pets allowed?
    Unfortunately, pets are not allowed due to food safety regulations. However, we do permit guide dogs to accompany their owners. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but the safety and well-being of our attendees is our top priority.
  • What time is the Paniyiri?
    The Paniyiri is on Sunday, 3rd December. Gates open at 5pm and close at 11pm.
  • What happens if it rains?
    We are hopeful of a warm summer night. However, if it rains, the Paniyiri will go ahead. We have Plan B in place, which involves relocating to an indoor venue onsite at Fraser Park that can hold up to 1,000 people. So, no matter what the weather brings, the Paniyiri will go on and we'll ensure a wonderful experience for everyone.
  • Will there be dancing?
    Yes, dancing is an integral part of our Paniyiri. Our RSGDSYD dancers will perform and then the dance floor will be open for all guests to dance the afternoon away with DJ Georgie.D. Don't forget to bring your dancing shoes!
  • How to I collect my food on the day?
    To pick up your meal at the event, you will need to line up at the food counter with your ticket that you purchased online. This will ensure that you receive the meal that you have selected and paid for in advance. The food counter will be clearly marked and there will be staff available to assist you.
  • Can I bring my own food and drinks?
    No, unfortunately, BYO food and beverages are not permitted at the Paniyiri. This is to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all attendees, as well as to comply with the regulations of the event venue. Your meal is included in your ticket price.
  • Will there be alcohol available?
    The Sydney Portuguese Community club is fully licensed and will be running the bar on the day. We understand that Greeks love their beer, wine and Ouzo, but we kindly ask that you drink responsibly. It is important to note that this is a family-friendly event, and we ask that all attendees be mindful of their behavior and alcohol consumption. Any person found to be intoxicated will be escorted off the Paniyiri grounds.
  • What do I need to bring?
    We recommend wearing something casual and comfortable, and don't forget to bring your dancing shoes! We want you to feel comfortable and ready to have fun! Your ticket will grant you access to the event and also serve as your voucher to pick up your food box. Please make sure to bring your ticket with you to the event.
  • What payment facilities will be available on the day?
    The club will be running the bar and accepts both cash and credit card payments for drink sales. However, please note that only cash payments are accepted for any food sales. We highly recommend bringing cash with you to the club if you plan on purchasing dessert items.
